I rode over to New Orleans for the Tulane game very early Saturday morning with Cbuck and his crew. When we got to N.O., we started looking for the location of the Alumni Tailgate. I had looked on the satellite view of the parking lot between the Drury Inn and the AT&T building and my impression from that was that the spot wasn't very big. We found it and saw that there was not any good parking spots near it. So we went back to the SuperDome and parked in the parking garage. We then walked back to the tailgate spot. It was only 10:45 or so and the tailgate spot didn't open until 11 AM. Below, the early crowd of McNeese fans waiting for the tailgate area to open.

I was able to enter right before the opening to take a few pictures. Below, a slightly blurry picture of Alumni Director Joyce Patterson getting the drink table ready.

A shot of the cooking crew who cooked a very good jambalaya. Good job guys and gals.

I grabbed a plate of jambalaya to finish eating early so I could take some pictures. By the time I got finished, they were letting the fans in. Below, the jambalaya is being served up.

My two sons, their girlfriends, and a group of their friends had come over Friday and stayed at the Royal Sonesta Hotel for two nights. They found me at the tailgate area. Looks like they had a good time Friday night looking at the headgear of my youngest son's longtime girlfriend, Holly.

I got on the back of the bed of a pickup truck and took this picture of just some of the crowd in the tailgating area.

A shot of the line of people waiting to enter the tailgate area. The tailgate spot was a little too small for all of the McNeese fans but it worked out as people would come, eat, visit, and then leave as more fans showed up.

A shot of the tailgate area from the medium of Poydras St.

A couple of shots of the team busses passing in front of the tailgate area. They came by about 30-45 minutes earlier than what we were told and a lot of the tailgaters didn't even know they went by.

A shot of a "lost" Tulane fan at the McNeese Tailgate.

I realized that I had "lost" my crew and called them on my cell phone. They had retreated to the lobby of the Drury Inn when it had started to rain. A large group of McNeese fans were in there watching the LSU-Miss St. game on the lobby TV.

We decided to head by to the Dome to watch the pre-game warmups. Walking on the side of the Dome, I heard someone hollering at me but couldn't locate the source. Looking up finally, there was the Head PoBoy Frank.
