Texas St. Game 2009

I made the trip over to San Marcos for the McNeese-Texas St game. What a great game! Midway through the second quarter with us down 7-20, it wasn't looking very pretty but the Cowboys kept their cool. The defense stepped up and the offense put two TD's on board to tie the game at halftime. In the second half, we scored to take a 27-20 lead but Texas St. answered to tie it at 27. With 8:49 left in the game, we got the ball on our 16 yard line. We then went on a 7 minute plus drive to kick a field goal to go up 30-27 with 1:30 left on the clock. This was a senior led drive with three big clutch 3rd down conversions. And at the end, freshman kicker, Josh Lewis, hit one dead solid perfect right down the middle from 28 yards out.

Next week it is the final regular season home game against Central Arkansas in "The Hole"!! It will be Senior Night and a very good group of seniors will be playing their last regular season game (and hopefully not their last home game) in front of the McNeese fans. We need to win this game because a win will get us into the playoffs and and a possible home game or two. Make it a point to be in "The Hole" next Saturday Night (it's a 6PM game) to support the Cowboys and this great group of seniors!!! Be there!!!!
