Member of the McNeese kickoff coverage team swarm the kick returner to start the second half.

After one SVU first down, LB Matt Kreamer intercepts a SVU pass and returns it 19 yards to the SVU 28 yardline.

On the first play, Beau Lasseigne throws what would be our last pass of this game. John LeDay catches the short pass in the flat and outruns everybody around the left side for a 28 TD. After the PAT, the score was 56-0.

Later on, Beau Lasseigne, who played most of the second half, awaits a snap.

We turn the ball over on downs in SVU territory. The SVU qb promptly fumbles the next snap and we get the ball back.

We get the ball on the SVU 28 yardline. On the first play Josh Wagner goes 28 yards to score a touchdown. With the PAT, this makes the score 63-0.

The backup kicker, Matt Polansky, who took over for Blake sometime in the second half, kicks the PAT.

We got very vanilla after this and didn't even send anyone back to return punts. After exchanges of several punts, we fumble the ball over to SVU on our 32 yardline. After 6 plays they throw a 17 yardline pass to score a TD. The whole SVU bench came out on the field to celebrate which drew a celebration flag. The flag drew a few boo's from the McNeese crowd who thought, even though by the rules was correct, the flag was unnecessary considering the situation. The McNeese fans cheered the SVU team, the cheerleaders did pushups for them, and one of the Buccaneers fired his pistol for the PAT. I was visiting with the Buccaneers when they scored and we were a little disappointed that we didn't think about firing the canon for them when they scored.

We got the ball back in their territory because they had to kick deep in their territory because of the stupid celebration penalty. Josh Wagner and Drew Johnston took turns running dive plays into the line as the clock ran. Finally, it ran down and we took a knee on the SVU 5 yardline.

Below, the Buccaneers fire the canon one last time to celebrate the win and clear out the last charge of powder.

A shot of the final scoreboard.

After shaking hands, both teams take a knee at mid-field for a post-game prayer.

Since a lot of the fans were gone, the players went over to the Bandstand to thank the Band for their support. The Band then played the McNeese Alma Mater.

That's it for this week. Next week I'll be flying with the team charter to Brookings, SD and will have more pictures.
