Southern Virginia Game
After missing two weeks because of the cancellation of the Cal Poly game because of Hurricane Ike and a scheduled open date, football was finally played in Cowboy Stadium. Southern Virginia was a team from a small NAIA school and was thoroughly outclassed physically. But they fought hard the whole game and eventually scored a TD after a McNeese turnover. McNeese fans cheered for their score, the cheerleaders did pushups for them, and one of the Buccaneers fired his pistol to celebrate the TD. The only reason the canon wasn't fired was that we didn't think about it soon enough.
Everybody that was dressed out played in the game. We did look pretty sharp in execution of the offense in this game. The Qb's went 12 for 12 passing before we stopped passing after one pass in the second half.
Next week, we will travel to Brookings, SD to play a tough South Dakota State team. We owe those guys one for the "Black Cat" game in 2006.
Below is a link to a few of the pictures I took of the tailgating, pregame, and the game.
