Gold defenders chase down Blue Qb Beau Lasseigne as he gets good yardage on a run.
Several plays later, the Blue team ran a play that looked like a option play with a pitch to TB Todd Pendland. But WR Chad Davis caught the pitch going back to the right and almost walked into the endzone for a touchdown. This made the score 14-14 with 4:52 left in the game.
Elrick Jones gets 24 yards on the Gold's first play of the next possession.
On the next play, the Gold tried a trick play. Richard Conner pulled up on an end around play and threw a pass down field intended for Immanuelle Friddle. But the pass hung up and allowed Brandon Robinson to tip the ball enough to keep Friddle from catching it.
After Terrance Freeman's third QB sack killed the Gold drive, the Blue team got the ball back with 3:45 left on the clock. Coach Matt Viator was a interested spectator this game as his assistants handled the coaching of both teams. Below, he watches before the first play of the Blue team's next drive.
The first play didn't do much but the second one was vintage Todd Pendland. He caught a short pass out of the backfield in the left flat, cut across the field, and went 65 yards before getting knocked out of bounds on the right side line at the Gold 14 yard line.
On the next play, Beau Lasseigne gets 17 yards on a run down to the Gold 2 yard line.
Todd Pendland gets the last 2 yards for the TD to give the Blue team a 21-14 lead after the PAT with 1:41 left in the game.
With little time on the clock, the Gold team goes to work. Derrick hits Corday Clark for 9 yards on first down.

Derrick, then, gets good yardage on three good runs. Below, one of those runs.
Eventually, Derrick hits Corday Clark with a 14 yard touchdown pass (I missed the picture) to make the score Blue 21 Gold 20 with 33 seconds left. The Gold team elects to go for two points. Derrick Fourroux goes up the middle on a Qb run for the two point conversion for the apparent game winner with 33 seconds left.
But there is a full moon (well, almost full) rising over Cowboy Stadium and strange things can happen.
After a 20 yard pass and run by Todd Pendland and a pass interference call for 12 more yards, Beau Lasseigne gets 17 yards down to the Gold 21 yardline with 14 seconds left.
The Blue team looks to be setting up a field goal attempt for the win. But Todd Pendland gets the ball and blows by everybody for a 21 yard touchdown run to score with 8 seconds left.
Derrick Fourroux puts up a long desperation pass.
Richard Conner manages to come down with the pass in the middle of three defenders but time ran out on the play.
