The next play on 2 and 14, Chris Royal catches a 12 yard pass to give us a manageble 3rd and 2. But no, we get called for a deadball personal foul and end up having 3rd in 17. So, Wr Immanuel Friddle catches this pass to give a first down inside the 10 yardline. Hold on, another one of those yellow hankies on the field and it gets called back.
We end up having to punt to SFA. SFA has the ball for 4 plays when Jace Peterson intercepts a pass and we get it back. We gain four yards on three plays and get into punt formation on 4th and 6. But we fake the punt and Beau Lasseigne throws a pass to Brandon Robinso for 25 yards and a first down on the SFA 32. Or so we thought. Another yellow hanky and we get a personal foul after the play and the ball ends up on the SFA 47.
After one first down, we end up turning the ball over on downs to SFA on their 26. Below, Matt Kreamer tries to tackle a SFA Rb in the backfield but misses.

At the start of the second half, SFA has to punt, we punt, and SFA punts to us again. After a couple of first downs, we have it 1st and 10 on our 40. Derrick then throws a pass to Richard Conner on a crossing route and Richard takes it 36 yards to the SFA 24.
We get the ball down to the SFA 14 yard line but stall out. Josh Lewis comes in to kick a 31 yard field goal but his kick hits the left upright and the FG is no good. So the feeling of being snake bit is still there.
But the defense is playing pretty decently since the first quarter. Below, Seth Thomas intercepts a SFA pass on the third play of their drive.
From 1 and 10 on the SFA 43 yardline, Derrick goes 21 yards down to the SFA22.
Champlain Babin has come into the game because Todd Pendland has reaggrevated a groin pull suffered in the Tulane game. And Babin takes over on this drive and scores in three rushing plays. After getting five yards on the first play, he shows his strength by bulling his way though tackles and then twisting to get 12 yards to the SFA 5.
Then Babin runs through a tackler or two on the next play for the TD.
After the TD I'm feeling better because we moved the ball well and the defense is playing well. But the PAT was blocked, the ball run back and us called for a horse collar tackle on the tackle. This means we will be kicking off from the 15 yard line. The snake bit feeling has returned.
