Some Bearkat fans came and visited us at our tailgate spot. The one third from the left was Sam Houston's No. 3 Chris Lucas's dad. They were from Alabama. Chris had been at Troy St. but transferred to Sam Houston to play.

Over in Richard Cole's tailgate spot, Andre was stirring the pot of what looked like the beginning of some jambalaya.

In our spot, Greg had smoked a bunch of ribs. And then Andy grilled some burgers and hot dogs for people who might not want ribs.

About 1 PM, we ran into the baseball "general manager", Brent Million, who invited us to go tour the baseball facilities to see the changes and meet with Coach Burrows. First thing we looked at was the brand new turf on the infield. They had tilled up the whole infield and placed new turf and dirt this summer. It really looked good.

Here are some before pictures for the new grandstands. The new grandstands should start going up in a week or two.

We then ran into Coach Terry Burrows, who gave us a tour on the refurbished and repainted baseball office complex. Below, Coach Burrows stands in front of the new trophy case in the newly repainted baseball lobby.

A shot of the baseball players' lounge.

Next, we looked at the indoor practice facility. A couple of pictures of the indoor batting cage and the pitcher's practice area. The indoor mounds were behind the camera on the second picture.

A shot of the players's dressing room. The walls have been redone. The individual player lockers will eventually be replaced with new ones.

I liked this sign on the door leading out of the players' locker room.

We then went and looked upstairs. The whole upstairs had to be redone. There was a meeting room with a couple of ping pong tables in it.

There was also a kitchen upstairs.

Also, there was a small training room. It didn't have much equipment in it yet.

On the way back to the tailgate area, I took a few pictures of some tailgaters relaxing watching football on TV.

There was a lot of sateliite dishes around enabling the tailgaters to watch a lot of different games on TV
