Derrick Fourroux scrambles on a 3 and 15 play but only gets 10 yards.
Blake comes in and punts for 48 yards to the Sam 8 yard line. They get penalized for a block in the back and start on their own 4 yard line.
Allen Nelson and Byran Smith combine on a tackle behind the line for a 3 yard loss.
We eventually hold them. They punt and we drive the ball to their 16 yard line only fumble it away. They then run out the clock to end the half with the score 10-7 McNeese.
At halftime the Band performs combine with the All-star high school Bandsmen.
McNeese ran few promotions at halftime. The first was a field goal try which was missed badly. One of the new ones was a punt catching promotion. The participant got to try to catch three punts put up by a machine and got money for each punt caught. He only caught one. Below Ryan Ivey shoots the ball with the machine and the contestant catches one of the punts.
Another contest had the participants putting on a jersey and pants and picking up a ball while running the 100 yards of the field.
Sam got the ball first to start the second half. They completed two quick passes but on the second pass completion, Kody Knox stripped the ball from the receiver and Allen Nelson recovers the fumble. We started driving the ball. Below, Toddrick gets good yardage on a run.
These guys were the winners of the Best Seat in the House promotion.
Derrick Fourroux runs 9 yards for a first down on the Sam 14 yard line.
That set up this fantastic run by Toddrick where he refused to be denied the endzone. Below, he gets a good hole at first from the line, dodges a player or two, head butts another head on, and then carries three Sam players into the endzone.
And then he had a little left over to do this little jump celebration as one of the refs signals a touchdown.
Blake adds the PAT as the Sam players try to block it.
On the kickoff Josh Quayhagen puts a big lick on the kick returner. He coughed the ball up and we recovered the fumble at the Sam 24 yard line.
On the first play, Toddrick takes it 24 yards around the left side for a touchdown.
