Javaris Murray returns the opening kickoff.
The offensive line comes off the snap on the first play of the game. Derrick faked a handoff then threw to TE Wes Mangan for a 26 yard gain.
Two plays later Champlain Babin takes the ball into a crowd in the line. I turn my attention to the Side Judge telling our WR to break off his block on a NSU DB because the play is over. Then Champ (if that is not his team nickname, it should be) all of a sudden appears running free around the right side of the line. He goes thirty yards for the TD.
After the Demons get one first down they have to punt to us on a play that had a penalty that I could never figure out. Champ makes good yardage on a run after the punt.
After an incomplete pass, Chad Davis takes the ball on a run up the left sideline for 38 yards to the NSU 26.
Derrick Fourroux takes the next snap and then runs 7 yards to the NSU 19.
Champlain Babin then goes 9 yards down to the NSU 10.
On the next play he breaks a tackle or two to go 10 yards for the TD. After the PAT the score is 13-0.
The Cheerleaders celebrate by running the MSU flags. They would have run the COWBOYS flags but it appears that the B flag has walked off or disappeared. If anybody knows where it is, they probably should contact the Field House.
The kickoff coverage team does a swaying huddle before the following kickoff.
On the first play after the kickoff, Jace Peterson makes a tackle on a Demon runningback and forces a fumble. They recovered the fumble though.
They eventually get the ball down to our 11 yard line and have it 2nd and five. But Damion Aultman tackles Castille for a 4 yard loss.
On 3rd and 9 from our 15 they throw a pass in the flat to Castille and Seth Thomas makes a great one on one tackle to hold them to a 2 yard gain forcing 4th down.
They decide to kick a field goal which is good and the score is now 13-3.
On our next possession, Chad Davis looks for running room on an end around play.
On 3rd and 2, Derrick throws a short pass to Javaris Murray that gets 14 yards and a first down.
On the next play, Javaris gets 10 yards on a run down to the NSU 43.
We get it down to the NSU 14 yard line but stall. Josh Lewis comes in and hits a 32 yard field goal right down the middle. The score is now 16-3.
