When we got to Nicholls, some of the McNeese Motorized Cavalry had already circled the wagons.

Jerry Stephens had a new motorhome story to tell. He was coming over in the rain on Friday. Somewhere around Jeanerette, he sucked up some water in his air intake which caused his air filter to collapse. This caused not enough air to reach his engine and he eventually limped into the Walmart parking lot in Patterson to take a look. Since there was no RV places open to get a new filter in Patterson, he went ahead and drove to Houma/Thibodaux(?). Of course, it took forever because he could only make 8-12 mph. Below, a shot of the old collapsed air filter.

I decided to walk around the McNeese tailgate area to see who the early arrivals were. In the parking lot, I ran into Duke, the bassador, being walked by his people (whom I've already forgot their names, Robbins, I think.

They had this huge neat McNeese helmet hung at their spot.

It wasn't very long when the McNeese team busses rolled through and the fans greeted the players on the busses.

A shot of a group of McNeese tailgaters who had just started up their grill.

Kenny Cochran was zipping around the tailgate area on his motorized ice chest.

A shot of some McNeese fans in the parking lot.

A shot of the Great Pumkinsund, Rowdy, and his sidekick, Kaydee, dressed for Halloween.

Kenny Cochran had this crime scene type tape wrapped all around his travel trailer.

Jackie, Dolla, and one of their friends get some blue plastic jack-o-lanterns ready. They were going to fill them with candy and give it out during the game.

A shot of one of the tailgate spots on the North end of the lot.

A nice odor was coming from that spot because they were busy boiling shrimp.

Looks like chips and dip at this spot.

The parking lot that Nicholls allowed for the McNeese tailgating was outside the left field wall of the softball field. Sometime in the late morning, we noticed that some McNeese fan had raised a McNeese flag on the Nicholls softball flagpole.

About 11:45 AM, I decided to head to the stadium for pre-game warmups. I ran into on of the Road Trip Queens, Bat Woman, on the way.
