Football Scrimmage 8/20/2011, Page 1

I went over to watch the scrimmage in "The Hole" Saturday morning. When I got there the Qb's were out warming up. Below, a shot of Cody Stroud.

After all of the players get out, Strength and Conditioning Coach Zeb Hawkins puts the players through their warmup and stretching drills.

They started off with some kickoff and punting drills. Below, Punter Ben Bourgeios hits a punt.

Wr. Darius Carey catches a slant pass to make a first down on the first drive.

Cody Stroud was at Qb to start the scrimmage. Below, he throws a pass over DE Chris Loveless. Cody was 6 for 11 for 210 yards and 2 TD's in the scrimmage. He also ran twice for 32 yards.

When the drive got down deep, Qb Riley Dodge took over. Below, he is in the shotgun awaiting a snap. Riley was 5 of 8 passing for 74 yards and 2 TD's.

Wr Shelby Hemenway has this potential TD pass go through his hands. I think this was the only pass he missed. He had a good day and caught 3 passes for 104 yards and 1 TD.

The drive stalled and Josh Lewis came in and knocked a 48 field goal inside the left upright. Josh was hitting the ball good today. The only miss was after a bobbled snap and hold that through off the timing.

Rb Andre Anderson looks for running room. The defense was playing the run well early in the scrimmage. Andre didn't get the ball much and only had 8 yards on 5 rushes. But he did make the only rushing TD of the scrimmage.

Qb Will Briscoe gets into the game. Below, he gets a snap in the shotgun.

Will gets a first down on a run. Will was 8 of 12 for 227 yards and 2 TD's in the scrimmage. He also had 31 yards on 3 carries. All of the Qb's looked good in this scrimmage, imo.

Wr Shelby Hemenway makes a catch for a good gain.

The defense forces and recovers a fumble on this play. Rb Javaris Murray did have 62 yards on 5 carries for the scrimmage.

Dontae Spencer catches this pass for a 30 yard TD.
