I made it to the Football Banquet for the 2004 Football Team in the Parra Ballroom on Saturday, January 29 and took a few pictures. The Cowboy Club financed the food for the Banquet and cooked the meal Friday night and all day Saturday. When the food was delivered, it was served on to plates by some Cowboy Club members and some employees of the University. It then was served to the guest at the tables by the All Girl Cheer Squad. Below a shot of the dessert pudding being dished up to be put on the tables by members of the Cheer Squad.

Head Trainer Jim "Doc" Murphy was the Master of Ceremonies for the Banquet.

After the Invocation and a hightlight film, President Dr. Robert Hebert gave a short Welcome address.

The Athletic Director Sonny Watkins then took the microphone to introduce all the special guest seated at the front tables.

While he was up there, he decided to go ahead, out of the program order, and give out the Senior Scholastic Award. It went to Scott Pendarvis.

Next, Offensive Coordinator Matt Viator introduced the offensive squadmen and then gave out the Lettermen Awards to the offensive players.

Next, Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry did the same with the defensive players.

Below, CB Chris White gets his Letterman Award.

Then, Head Trainer Jim Murphy gave out the Lettermen Awards for his student trainers.

Head equipment manager Ronnie Breaux then read out the names of the student managers who were receiving Lettermen Awards and, as usual, none were present.

A shot of a portion of the front table. From the right going left, Coach Adam Henry and his wife, Qb Club President Greg David and his wife, Tracie, Cowboy Club President Kenny Cochran and his wife, Dee, and Marlene Hobbs and her boyfriend, Wayne.

Next, Head Coach Tommy Tate introduced all the Seniors. They were given framed copies of the covers of the game programs that they appeared on during the season. These were donated and framed by Greg David of Frameworks. Also, they were given 8x10 photos of their Senior pictures with their families taken on the field before the last game and 8x10 photos of the group shot of the seniors taken in the Cowboy Room before that game. The photos were donated by Geauxcowboys.com and myself.

Below, Sr Offensive Lineman, Dentrick Chretien, receives his.

A shot of Sr Placekicker John Marino accepts his.

Next, Coach Tate gave out the Cowboy Club Player of the Week Awards for both defense and offense for each game of the season. Below, Henry Smiths gets the award for one of the games.

During this, Freshmen Trey Bennett got an award for one of the games. But he also gets my unofficial "B. J. Sams" Award for most eye catching outfit. I named it after B. J. because of on of the outfits that he wore to the banquet a few years ago. :-)

Qb Scott Pendarvis accepts a Player of the Game Award from Coach Matt Viator.

Next, Strength and Conditioning Coach Robinson announced the winners of his female and male Lifter of the Year Awards.

The male Lifter of the Year award winner was Defensive Lineman Buck Harris.
