We started off with a big play on defense when Brant Linde intercepts a pass and takes it 66 yards for a TD. This gave us a 7-0 lead.
The EWU Qb Matt Nichols was a good one. Below, he looks things over as he is under center.
They drive down and score a TD on this play to eventually make the score 7-7.
Elrick Jones returns the following kickoff.
Derrick throws a pass to Immanuel Friddle for 6 yards.
Derrick would have had a good gain on this run but was tripped up at the line.
Later, on 3rd and 9, Derrick is hit from behind on a run and fumbles forward. but James Jordan gets on the ball and we get a first down by a yard.
Kris Bush gets 8 yards down to the EWU 11 yard line.
Behind FB Jordy Johnson, Derrick gets a first down on 3rd and 1.
A couple of plays later, Derrick fumbles on the 5 yard line, EWU recovers, and we are back on defense. Below, LB Allen Nelson makes a tackle.
They move the ball down the field into our territory. Below, Vaalyn Jackson makes a tackle after a completed pass.
On the next play, Marcus Brown intercepts a pass on our 7 yard line.

We end up punting. They drive the ball down the field. Below, Brant Linde makes a tackle to keep EWU from making a first down on 3rd and 7 at the McNeese 9 yard line.
EWU kicks a 24 yard field goal to make the score 10-7 with a little over 9 minutes left in the half.
On the first play of our next possession, Rb Kris Bush gets the ball and then hands off on a reverse to Carlese Franklin. Carlese gets 19 yards on the play.
