Valparaiso Series Game 1 Pictures, Page 1

Head Coach Terry Burrows looks over some stats in the dugout before the game.


The pitchers were getting the field ready for play. Below, the outlines of the batter's boxes are being traced so they can be painted.


Former player now volunteer assistant coach, Sam Merrill drags the infield with the 3-wheeler.

The players for both team line up for the playing of the National Anthem.



Matt Click throws the first pitch of the game. Matt gave up 5 runs, 4 of the earned, on 6 hits in 4 innings of work. He struck out 5 and walked 2.


Steve Irving works on timing the Valpo pitcher while he was warming up before McNeese first at bat.


Catching for McNeese this game was Tony Coniglio.


Shortstop Matt Fontenot fields a ground ball.


First Baseman Bryn Thompson prepares to field a pickoff throw while a Valpo baserunner dives back.


Rightfielder Lee Orr catches a fly ball in right field.


Andy Riche' gets McNeese first hit of the season with a single to left center in the 3rd inning. We loaded the bases but didn't get any runs. Valpo held a 4-0 lead after three innings.


Longtime booster and former football equipment manager, Fred Thomas watches the game from the right field bullpen area.


Lee Orr steals second after walking to start the 4th inning.


After two fly outs, Bryn Thompson singles to left field..............


........and Lee Orr comes around to score. The score ended up being 1-5 after four innings.


Second baseman Jace Peterson lines up to catch a popfly in the 6th inning.


Jaden Dillion throws a pitch. Jaden came into pitch in the top of the 5th after Matt Click walked the first batter. He immediately got a double play ground ball and a strikeout to get out of the inning. Jaden pitched great in relief and got the win in the game. He gave up just 1 run on 1hit in 5 inninngs. He had 4 strike outs and 2 walks in that time.
