Keith Patnode had an outstanding defensive game at third base. Below, he throws to first base after cutting off a slow ground ball.

Taylor Freeman prepares to pull the trigger on a pitch. Taylor had an outstanding series at the plate this weekend.

Keith gets in a ready position at third base during a pitch to the plate.

I think this is the new sportscaster from KPLC on the dugout roof recording some video of the game.

Assistant Coach Jason Gonzales is coaching third base this season.

Leading off the McNeese 6th, Jordan Venable gets plunked by a pitch.

That started action in the Nicholls bullpen. And after the next batter, Bryn Thompson, is also hit by a pitch, Nicholls changed pitchers.

Jordan and Bryn both moved up on a wild pitch.

After a couple of hard hit balls and good plays by Nicholls, we didn't get any runs out of the 6th inning but still had a 4-0 lead. In the top of the 7th, Scott got into a little bit of a jam. Below, Coach Burrows comes out to talk to him.

This started Jonathan Conrad and another Cowboy pitcher warming up in the bullpen. But Scott got out of the inning only giving up one run.

Shon Landry singled to start the Cowboy 7th. He stole second and third base during the inning but was stranded on third. Below, he leads off first and then steals second.

Jonathan Conrad was brought in to start the 8th inning.

Jonathan pitched two perfect innings to get the save. Below he ends the 8th with a K.

Jordan Venable singled to lead off the 8th inning. Below, he dives back to first on a pickoff attempt. Later, he was thrown out by the catcher on a missed bunt attempt. Coach Burrows was not happy. :-)

Below, Keith Patnode fields a slow ground ball and throws to first to get the first out of the 9th inning.

After Taylor Freeman catches a popup behind the plate for the second out, Firstbaseman Bryn Thompson catches this throw from Keith on a ground ball to third to record the final out of the game.

Below, a shot of the final scoreboard showing the win.

The Cowboys congratulate each other on the win. They don't normally shake hands with the other team until after the last game of a series.
