Nicholls State Game 2 Pictures, Page 1

When I got to Cowboy Diamond the pitching staff was preparing the field for play by raking, watering, and chalking the lines.

Seated on the wall between the field and the bullpen area, this two twins, dressed in their McNeese shirts, were making faces at each other. I was told that they were Coach Gonzales' two girls.

There was a slight wind blowing across the field from left to right field as shown by the flag waving on the new flagpole.

The Cowboys huddle up in right field and say a pregame prayer.

Coach Burrows watches Scott Holstein warmup in the bullpen.

The coaches and umpires shake hands after the exchange of lineup cards.

The Poke starters take the field after the team huddled up on the sideline.

The teams line up for the playing of the National Anthem.

Scott winds up to throw the first pitch and the game is on.

After Nicholls goes down in order in the top of the first, Mace Hebert takes a lead after walking to lead off the McNeese first inning.

Sam Merrill fouls off a pitch. He later singled to right field.

Mace goes from first to third on Sam's single. Sam advanced to second on the throw to third.

That brought up Shon Landry. Below, he pulls the trigger on a pitch........

.......and drives it over the centerfield wall for a three run homer.

Below, Mace and Shon celebrate the homerun as Shon steps on the plate.

Below, a shot of brand new AD (with the "interim" freshly removed) Tommy McCelland and his wife, Jessica. Tommy is a very visible fixture at most all McNeese sporting events. At least, at the ones I have attended.

A shot of Scott throwing a pitch from behind the screen.
