McNeese vsLamar Game 2

I made it over to Lamar to catch the second game of the three game series there on Friday night. The Pokes had already won game one Thursday night which meant they had clinched at least a tie for the conference championship. If they could win the second game, they would win the whole thing outright.

We scored one in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Lamar came back to tie it in the bottom of the second. We answered that with two runs in the top of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Lamar came back to tie the game in the bottom of the 4th on a two run homer. We answered that by scoring four runs in the fifth, three runs in the sixth, and four runs in the seventh to take a 14-3 lead. It was a combination of hits, small ball (bunts and stolen bases), and three Lamar errors that was responsible for all the runs. Chris Denton struck out two batters in the bottom of the 7th for the complete game as the game was ended by the ten run rule at 14-3.
