Matt Fontenot catches a popup in short right field for the last out of a one, two, three inning for Tech in the top of the 5th.

A shot of one of the bullpen catchers warming up Scott Holstein.

We go down in order in our half of the 5th and Scott Holstein does come in to pitch in the top of the 6th.

He struck out the first batter. The next batter singled to get on. Below, he throws to first to hold the runner close.

The next batter then hits in to a 6-4-3 double play. Below, Matt Fontenot makes the turn on the double play.

In the bottom of the 6th, Josh Cholley starts things off by putting down this bunt for a single.

He then steals second.

Sam Merrill starts a swing that ends up being a single scoring Cholley from second.

After an out, Merrill is picked off trying to get a jump to steal second on this play.

And, as usual, the next batter,Shon Landry, drives this ball for a single after the caught stealing. Of course, if the steal had been successful, it might have been an RBI. After a fly out we end the 6th with a 6-4 lead.

In the Tech 7th, the second batter singled after one out. The third batter hit a ground ball to second base and the Pokes turned a double play. Below, Shon Landry makes the relay to first to complete the double play.

We didn't do anything in our half of the 7th. In the Tech 8th, after a single, a passed ball, and another single driving in a run to make the score 6-5, Jordan LeGros came on to pitch in relief.

Jordan got out of the inning with a couple of ground ball outs and a fly ball out to end Tech's half of the 8th inning.

When we started our half of the 8th, I had moved to behind the screen and mentioned to Chris Buchanan that it sure would be nice to get a couple of runs to pad the lead. So, Matt Fontenot led off by hitting this ball for a single.

Josh Cholley moved him to second by putting a good sacrifice bunt.

Sam Merrill doubled on this pitch to drive Fontenot home.

After a strike out, Shone Landry singled to drive in Sam and there were the two runs I was wanting. That was all we scored and in the Tech half of the 9th, the first batter flied out and the second batter struck out. Then there was a walk and a single putting runners on second and first with two outs. The next batter hit a ground ball to Shon Landry at shortstop who tossed the ball to Matt Fontenot at second base for the last out of the game.

A shot of the final scoreboard.
