McNeese vs Lamar Game

Saturday was a big day at Burton Coliseum for the women and men's doubleheader with Lamar. First, it was the last home game for the Seniors on both teams and the Senior Day Ceremonies were held for each team before their games. And a win by each team meant a Southland Conference Championship for each team. The Southland Conference Commissioner was there with the trophies just in case.

The women's game with Lamar was a dogfight (catfight??). It was back and forth. The Cowgirls were down by 9 with a little over three minutes left in the game. They scratched and clawed and refused to give up. Eventually, they hit a jumper with 3.8 seconds left and survived a last second Lamar shot for the win. They got their trophy from the Commissioner after the game. A net cutting ceremony was planned for after the men's game. Hopefully, it would be a dual net cutting ceremony.

The men jumped out on Lamar quick. In the second half Lamar would cut the lead to single digits but the Cowboys would surge back to get the double digit lead back. Eventually, it came down to free throw shooting and we made them expanding the lead until the end of the game. The final score ended up being 92-74. The men were presented their trophy and the dual net cutting ceremonies were held. The men on the North end and the women on the South.

Below is a link to a few of the pictures I took at the game.
